General
Simultaneous
Threads
Many
software program only allow one process to execute at a time. When you are
making thousands of queries, this can take a long time. EDS uses complex
technologies that utilize the .NET framework which allow us to use multiple
"threads" (i.e. processes) that work simultaneously to give you results
faster. We allow up to 100 processes all executing at the same time.
Notes
Editable for Each domains
In
our domain monitoring and evaluation areas, users will be evaluating the domain
for their value. Many times, you need to take miscellaneous notes and store the
information you have found for these domains. Now, with only a
right-click, you can save your notes for future reference. When you want
to see them again, just hover your mouse over the Notes icon, and your note will
appear. You do not have to call up any separate section of the program in
order to see this.
Notes
Icon visible
For
every domain you enter notes on, an icon will appear that indicates notes are
available to be read for that domain. Notes can be edited, deleted.
You can view the notes by hovering your mouse over the domain in the list.
Written
in C#, .NET platform
Using
.NET allows us to integrate all aspects of the software together with far more
flexibility than ever before. This gives us the platform to bring new
parallel features that will complement the existing feature set.
Import/Export
Domains
Do
you have a list of domains that you have been watching for a while? You
can easily upload to Expired domain Sleuth (EDS) a text or CSV file (one domain
per line) and within seconds, EDS will have these domains set up in the domain
evaluation spreadsheet, ready to be analyzed.
Finding
Domains
Search
by Text File list of Domains
You
can import your own lists by simply calling up the txt or csv with one domain
per line. You can specify whether the domain should have a www. prefix or
whether it should be without. Some domains have traffic to
BOTH!
Deleted/Onhold/Pending
Delete Lists
We
have hourly updated lists so that you always have the latest and most
accurate. Find domains in every stage of the domain life cycle.
Domains can be scheduled for download...so you can sleep while the program works
for you. Only available for GOLD subscription members.
Search
18 Search Engines and Directories
Search
some of the most popular search engines in the world including Google, Yahoo,
MSN...etc. List includes country specific search engines and
directories. Don't see your engine? Add it yourself! You can
use one keyword, several keywords separated by commas, or even an entire text
file of keywords.
Redo/Undo
Delete
a domain by mistake? Undo one or more of your latest entries.
RealTime
Exody Lists
Download
a list from the leader in domain name lists.
Instant
Filters for Domains
We
filter on more than 20 different filters. Once you have applied your
filters, your GOLD list that is left can be monitored to expiry date or status
change. Save different groups of Filters as "strategies" for
future use.
CA
& .CO.UK domain lists.
Use
our unfiltered lists that are not available anywhere else. We update our
lists daily...no need to go anywhere else!
Domain
Scrapes on Entire Site
If
you find a website that has potential domains that you would like to acquire, we
have a scraper that will scrape each page throughout a site till you have every
single domain on the site. Excellent tool all by itself. If you find
a directory site that cannot otherwise be searched, scraping may be your only
option. Tell EDS how deep to search (how many levels in the website), and
EDS will dig until every domain is recovered. You can also enter a list of
domains that are to be scraped.
Add
your own Search Engines
We
have added a simple wizard so that you can add any search engine in the
world. Search engine shows up in the same list as the built in ones and is
available every time you open the program
Domains
with or without "www."
Sometimes
the best domains are ones that had all development take place at their
"root" (i.e. http://domain.com vs. http://www.domain.com)
. You can use EDS to evaluate BOTH of these cases. If you input a
domain manually or from a list, we will respect the domain you enter.
Filter
Domain
Filter
out Popular TLD's
If
you are looking for specific TLDs (i.e. .com), you can filter them out quickly
with just a click.
Checks
inclusion in Search Engines.
If
you are only interested whether a domain is listed within a specific search
engine, you can filter your list to ONLY include domains listed by that search
engine
Check
for Disconnected Domains
Domains
that have been disconnected by their service provider could be a sign that the
owner has abandoned them. We include several filters to search for those
domains that have errors associated with them. You can further eliminate
all domains in your list which return an "active" status (i.e. live
site)
Overture
Popularity Filter
Filter
on sites that have a minimum type-in domain value. These are domains whose
entire name is a phrase that users type directly into the address bar on
their browser. Search engines typically will return results that have that
phrase in the domain name. Overture, which is owned by Yahoo publishes
search term popularity (i.e. number of searches done in the past month). So a
domain with a high typein value may rank very highly in the search results.
Save
all Filter Criteria
Each
section of EDS, including Find, Filter, and Link Popularity have the ability to
have their criteria saved. Once saved, you can easily recall the
parameters of the section so you can easily recreate a strategy. Once you
have saved criteria for each section, you can schedule them to be automatically
executed in the Automation Tab. Not only this, but you can set up a
schedule PLUS recurring schedule to analyze, evaluate, filter your list while
you're away!
Phrase/Keyword/Character
Filter
Choose
partial or full keywords or characters to be included OR excluded from you
domain name OR the front page. Over 25 different filters to choose from
including number of characters, ending/beginning characerer, with/without dashes
or numbers...etc.
Discard
List
Tired
of downloading the same domains over and over again? Once you have
analyzed and discarded a domain as one you are interested in, add the domain to
the "Discard" list. The domain will never appear again in your
downloads or manual entries. Of course, you can always recall this domain
when and if you want.
Link
Popularity
Find
Popularity of Major Search Engines
We
give you 17 of the major search engines to check. The higher your domains
rank in the search engines, the more valuable your domain is. Create a
strategy which targets an industry or niche. Search engines can provide
you domains within these areas...some of which may be expiring.
Check
for trademark
If
a domain consists of a phrase that has been registered as a trademark, the value
goes up significantly. EDS returns a yes/no whether its at the trademark
office or not.
Check
Alexa Rank
Alexa
is a website that measures the link popularity by tracking the number of times
its members visit sites that are registered in their database. Because
public popularity is difficult to measure, many domain evaluators use Alexa as a
proxy of what the true popularity of a site is.
Optionally
use Country Specific Link Popularity
Using
US Search Engines to provide link popularity may not always give the correct
gauge of link popularity for domains that are registered in another
country. For example, the best gauge for a .CO.UK domain (England) would
be the search engines that are used in England. You can optionally choose
to find the link popularity of the engines that are resident in that country.
Overture
(+/- TLD)
Using
Yahoo's Overture Paid Search Engine, we give you the number of times that the
domain phrase has been searched on with and without the domain extension (.com,
.net..etc). The more searches, the more likely that the domain represents
a popular name or topic, which would increase its value. Websites that the
public know about and are specifically looking for will be searched for using
their extension as well (i.e. paypal.com vs "paypal")
Optionally
move to Discard List
As
an option, we let you remove any single or group of domains to the
"discard" list. This means that if you no longer want a domain
to show up on your lists, you can add it to the discard list which will never
show your domain again unless you remove it from the list.
Save
All Link Popularity
All
of the criteria that you use for link popularity can be saved as
"tasks" for future reference. Saved "tasks" can be
used in the automation tab to execute find tasks, filter tasks, and link
popularity tasks in any order you want. Schedule the project (group of
tasks) to run when you are not around. Save time!
Managing
Domains
Multiple
Sort Criteria
When
you have hundreds or thousands of domains that you are evaluating, sometimes
sorting by one criteria is simply not enough. We give you 3 criteria to
sort...and they are sorted in order so each subsequent searched is
"nested" within the previous search results.
Expiry
Date of Domains
All
domains expire at some point and this is where domain buyers are able to buy the
domains they want. We give you the ability to do bulk whois queries.
This tells you when they are expiring and what the current status of where they
are in the domain life cycle (i.e. redemption period, pending delete...etc)
Indepth
Whois
There
are several hundred whois servers, which carry the registration information for
tens of millions of domains. Not all whois servers have the domain
information for all domains. Indepth Whois does a double pass at a
domain. First it finds out where to go to get the correct information,
then it finds it. While highly accurate, this approach can take extra
time.
Email/Sound
Alerts
Use
either or both of these alerts to let you know when the expiry date has changed
or when the domain status has changed. Both could alert you to take action
to secure the domain.
Proxy
Custom
Lists
You
can cut and paste your own proxy and socks lists into the program. Test
and automatically eliminate those that do not return results in your designated
time period. Proxies will hide your identity from the search engines as
well as whois servers
Using
EDS GOLD lists
If
you don't have your own lists, you can use some of ours. All GOLD
subscribers can use our proxy lists to get more results.
Check
for proxy status
Proxies
don't stay available forever. Proxies cease to become proxies and new ones
are constantly created. When you have a list of possible proxies, you must
ensure that they return results to you in a timely manner. If they are too
slow or invalid, it will delay getting your results. EDS tests the domains
for both their validity as well as their response time. EDS will
automatically not use proxies that are deemed bad.
Automation
Save
Criteria for each Step
For
each process of domain management that EDS covers (i.e.Finding, Filtering, Link
Popularity, Managing, Whois), EDS can set up a task for each in memory.
Tasks can be grouped into projects which can execute the tasks in any order that
you want and whatever time you want. Create different strategies, schedule
them when its convenient for you. With Expired Domain Sleuth looking for
domains for you, you can do almost anything!
Schedule
Automation
Schedule
tasks or group of tasks (projects) to start whenever you want.
Looping
Option
You
can have the project repeat itself at various intervals. Schedule your
projects hourly, daily, ...etc. Never miss a domain release again.
Real
Time Exody Lists
Exody
is the recognized leader in compiling domain lists. GOLD members can
download these lists in realtime.
